Hiya Streamers....
It's been awhile since I came by...... a few quick hits here.....
The place I am living at now is next to a funeral home..... so, if I am hanging out in the breezeway, having a smoke or something, I look out next door and see stacks of stone caskets and uninscribed tombstones stacked up or just laying around behind the place..... sometimes I suppose death is a business and by the looks of the solemn crowds that are in and out of this place most days.... business is good.
I also live near a Sonic drive in.... and I have taken a keen interest in sampling the many interesting flavored lime-ades that they have available... especially on days that I am off work, as they are half priced from 2-4. KEWL!!!! (No, I did not receive compensation from Sonic for this glowing endorsement)
The room next to mine seems to be the room that is rented to folks just staying a night or two.... I have had an interesting parade of folks come through...... for example: a very loud couple that delighted in having very cacophonic and energetic sex for several nights in a row.... Once it went on for so long that I just put a pillow over my head and wished to ham and cheese that
she would stop shreiking like a rabid banshee insane with pleasure, and
he would quit trying to prove what a verile stud he was and just "finish"....... Oh, the sweet everloving humanity of it all! (lucky fools!)
A couple of nights ago, I was treated to the Tejano beach party from hell as there was..... from their room.... very loud Tejano music, whooping and hollering and even a good scrap.... which was all in Spanish so I couldnt figure out what all the friggin fuss was about....... and from my room there was the swearing of oaths and the gnashing of teeth..... I have had my door knocked on at all hours by all kinds of folks... a dazed drug addict at 6 in the morning, rednecks looking to borrow a can opener, folks mistakenly thinking someone they know is in my room, and a ditzy blonde holding a beer who asked me if I wanted to "party"! (Relax, I politely sent her away)
There are also hookers that come by the hotel on weekend nights, looking for "johns" willing to blow some of their freshly cashed paychecks..... myself, I aint interested in the prostitutes.... not my style.... but having somewhat Libertarian leanings, they dont really offend me so much.... they dont bother me and I dont bother them......
The main thing I had to adjust to with living there was the noise..... traffic traffic traffic! I have an interstate roaring by not more than 30 yards away out my window and another busy road on the other side... it took me awhile to deal with all that damn racket but I dont hear it so much now..... things just seem
very quiet when I am not at home now....
... but I am doing well..... it's an interesting little phase of my little life right now.... I certainly dont want this to go on forever but perhaps my creative horizons are a little wider now with this gooey slice of the seedy underworld of small town life in the South.....
Anyway, that's enough for now.... I am visiting the Hollow this weekend so I will be on the Stream a little bit...... I hope everyone is doing well.
