Hiya Streamers..... well, another week has come and gone.... the work week, anyway, which is how I organize my life and days around.... I'm off tomorrow!

I am at The Hollow tonight and I saw a little message on Secret's fridge that has been there for years and I have always liked it.... I will share it below.... I'm having a tough time tonight with some things but the following little bit of wisdom helps me to realize that things that seem like the end of the world are often just little tactical battles in the much wider strategy of living one's life to the fullest and in the most positive way...... it speaks volumes to me tonight and I hope you all enjoy it...

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

I love that. I need to take a deep breath whenever I become overwhelmed and stay focused on the better life that lies ahead for me..... sometimes the hardest work is simply to take pause... even if I dont always know the right thing to do in a situation, I certainly know what NOT to do....and act accordingly... that is how I come to see evidence that I am growing.

Thanks to everyone (in my life and on The Stream) who helped keep me grounded this week, and a big... BIG thanks to Secret for all the ways she helped me through this long difficult week.

Where's the hot chocolate? Man, it is nippy this fine morning in the humble southern Appalachians! It's about 54 here in The Hollow with some other close locales in the upper 40's! This is June, right? I love it! Highs this week wont even climb to 90 degrees... which this time of year, is pretty dang nice....... low humidity too! WOOT!

Well, it was definitely a Monday today........ frankly it sucked.... it started off bad and never got better.... I tried to adjust myself to the crap that was rolling my way all day and it just kept coming..... I guess I won over it, because I never melted down..... oh, and I am prone to meltdowns when I am under stress! So, I did good I suppose.......... having a better attitude in life doesnt save me from disappointment and maddening frustration.... I just dont let it consume me as much...btw.. in case you are wondering why I am able to post so often like this? I am staying at The Hollow for about 3 weeks while they refurbish my room at the Crack Dealer Hilton...... it's a good way for me to put back more towards my car and it gives me a chance to help around the house here while Secret's kids are out of town........ and the best part is being able to spend some quality time with LuLu. We went swimming last night and had a grand time.

I need a good night sleep and a fresh start tomorrow.... it's too late to save this Monday from being.... well, a Monday.

Hiya Streamers...... oh, it's a very hot, yet lovely Father's day here in Southern Appalachia......... it's been a good day..... my son called me this morning.... and that obviously was great.....my own father passed over 13 years ago.... he was a great man, and I always miss him on this day... then I called my step father this afternoon to wish him a happy Father's Day....... my step father has been a powerful force in my life since he married my Mom in 2000...... especially, he has been pivotal in keeping me on my recovery course over the years.......even when I stumbled and all seemed lost, he stuck it out with me.... he is incredibly firm, and also incredibly fair... I wouldnt be here without him and I love him dearly....... without his unending generosity, love and care, I very likely would have ended up going down a much darker path...... he is an incredible mentor, adviser, personal inspiration, and friend... I hope and pray that with hard work and God's grace, I can take hold of that life which he has always envisioned for me, and make him proud..... he deserves only the best from me and for me to live my life to the very fullest..... thank you so much Dick for hanging in here with me.... and I was filled with a deep happiness today to hear your voice on the telephone.....
