Life After The Hollow

 Fun With Icons.

Some of you have noticed that I like to change my icon up quite a bit. I had the cat drinking beer up for quite a while, and I would put some new things up now and then, but the cat ruled for the most part. Then I went nuts... I started changing it all the time, sometimes several times in one day. Let's review...

My Icons:

The cat drinking beer
Me and Lulu
The clouds in the sunset
A Rooster
A wolf
Phil Collins with long hair
Chachi and Joni
Flo
William Hung
Telly Savalas
Good Times cast
Peter Gabriel x 3
Keith Richards
Baby Monkey
B+W Lulu
A few of me
Tonya Harding
Don King
"I Have Issues"
"Ask Me About My Explosive Diarrhea"
Nicolas Cage
Bill Bixby

I KNOW I have forgotten one or two!

But I now have my nifty Zulu Warrior Icon and since I have developed an insane obsession with all things about the Dark Continent, I have decided that I am going to stick with that icon until I have completed the book I am reading about the Zulu wars!

*applause*

Yes friends... No more changing the icon more than I change my underwear..... There are some here who have always had the same icon and I instantly recognize who they are and I identify them with that image strongly. I can't imagine Bella using a different icon! Or Whit? No, those work for them and when I think of them, I think of their icon.

So, maybe the Zulu will be a more permanent visual representation for me and my blog.***

**** Look for me to break this deal fairly quick!! I'll TRY to stabilize the rolling icons though!

Happy Tuesday!

 3 Things For A Monday...

Happy Monday.

1. Louisiana has decided to finally outlaw cockfighting! Now, THAT'S some real cutting edge and groundbreaking legislation!

2. Don Imus is in the news. Um... he LOOKS like he passed away 6 years ago and hasn't realized it yet. HE'S TORE UP FROM DA FLOOR UP!!!

3. I've decided to move to Africa. *shrug*

That's all for today but I suppose it beats just posting a question mark.

Happy Monday.

Late For Church On A Sunny Easter.

Yes, Easter is upon us.... It's a chilly Easter morning here in southern Appalachia. The sun is out however, and it looks to be a beautiful day! I got up around 7 this morning to find the Easter bunny had brought me a little plastic bunny that lays eggs. Being known to lay an egg on occasion, I thought the gift was aprop. Anyway, I got up this morning, showered and made off for the Episcopal church here in town to be punctual for the 8:30 Easter service.... problem was, the service started at 8:00 sharp. I walk into the beautiful little church and the door slammed behind me, and I was met by a silent turning of the heads to see who was so late! I took a place near the rear of the sanctuary and joined in the service. This was neat because the Rector decided it would be good for Easter to sing part of the service, in the style of days long since passed. He sang his party beautifully and we in turn, kind of stammered our way through our part. I did get to take communion so I was happy with going...

Now what to do? It's sunny and crisp so I think a hike in the national forest near here is in order today.

Happy Easter to all, and if you go to church, don't be a Randy, call ahead and get there on time!

My First Blog Post here on the Stream... April 6, 2006

"Yes, it's me....Randy420.

For those of you who have known me for years under that name, you may know what to expect here, but for the uninitiated....look for rants or thoughts about a VERY random assortment of issues. Everything from poetry to theology to the usual fare (diarrhea mackerels and all that garbage). I don't do much politics unless they pertain to the Civil War era!

I will also use this place to just write. to write for the sake of writing.

It may be brilliant. It will probably suck.

I hope it will at least be interesting enough to keep you coming back.

So...

Off we go....."

.

.

A year of blogging and I would say that I did pretty much fulfill what I predicted on that very first day, when I didn't know anyone at all here. I had tipped a few friends off that I would be writing a blog and that's why I was acting like someone had heard of me in that first post. I really had no idea what I was getting into back then... I wrote little snippets about the country life, and wasn't involved with much interaction here until I got a couple of comments and struck out into the Stream to see what THEY were writing about... well, it just blossomed from there in a big way. A BIG THANKS goes out to "Belle", who was incredibly supportive and really helped to make me feel like I was a part of something bigger here than just my own silly little blog in those early days. I am amazed at how much love and support I have received here, and I think I have made some friends that I can never let go of now.

And...

Far too many laughs to even try to revisit here!

Anyway, Thanks to all you crazy Streamers!

Odds And Ins -- A Few Pics.

I was rummaging through the ole hard drive today and found the kind of pics that tend to fall through the cracks when I am sharing photos.... These aren't artistic, except maybe the cloud and moon shot, but I do like them just the same...

Secret and I in a mirrored ceiling room at Graceland

Bootsie and Jezebel share their feelings.

Moon and clouds

Footprints... Destin, Florida

Me ATTEMPTING to not fall on my butt.... I failed in that attempt.

Synchronized butt chewing. I gave them an 8 out of 10.
