I was digging through the Hollow basement again this morning and came across this.... I apologize if I have already reissued this before. I have always liked this poem and so I am giving it some fresh air before packing it away again....

"The Autumn Of Us"
The leaves are coming down in my heart
I feel the cool night air.
It's the autumn of our time together
The love we had has been stripped bare
The passion of our love
has passed like a summer shower
Our glorious communion
has wilted as a flower
That couldn't bear the searing heat
Our raging devotion
Every heart beat
was for the other and not ourselves
We wouldn't face even the shortest farewell
We bloomed too fast and too tender
and were left naked to the killing frost
In our haste to reach the heavens too fast
We have suffered the fatal loss
of a love that reached too fast, too soon
and now I pay the painful cost
So, I am alone as the leaves float down
in the autumn of you and I
I put a rose on the fire
and behold the wintering sky.
