Well, after the marathon of yesterday's silly weather discussion I am just gonna mail it in today with a reissue..... back from the days when this was entirely different kind of blog. It USED to be about rural life in Alabama almost exclusively, and I kinda miss those days... so with a flying wheel kick I am reissuing this short little bit from last summer....

A Slug's Tale.
One day, I was at the swimmin' hole watching the kiddos swimming and I happen to glance down to see a slug. My first reaction was to wrinkle my nose and say "Ewwww!"
I hate slugs.
But then I would do this or that, but would check back on the slug as he progressed in that slimy and slooooooow slug crawl that they do. The slug went across the concrete, up the side of the picnic bench, back down the picnic bench and over to the edge of the patio and back to where he started...all in about 3 hours.
An epic journey, indeed!
Then in a tragic instant it was all over.
and it made me think......
Are WE kind of like slugs that go on the epic journey called LIFE only to have it all end under the barefoot heel of a pimple faced, Pepsi swilling, teenager with Doritos stuck to his chin?
Food for thought!
