*yawn* Dayum, I got alot of SLEEP last night...this on the heels of NO sleep at all the night before.... but I did manage to get these pics just as the sun was going down yesterday....and then I was asleep by 9 PM...oh, joy!

I'm not sure when this originally posted but here's a re-issue.... taking a break from all the drama.....

Well, I think there was one thing I forgot to mention in all these descriptions of where we live... and that is the old fashioned country store that sits at an intersection a mile from our home. Now, this place is what you think of when you are thinking of a small "mom and pop" country market. The place is not much bigger than a house. It does have a few short aisles and there is a small produce stand right in the middle of the store stocked with potatoes, tomatoes and fresh vegetables. There is a fairly limited selection of things to buy and it's used mainly for quick purchases rather than the big weekly shopping excursion for vittles.

The folks that own the place and the few people that work there are generally friendly and talkative. They know their customers and their customers know them. A quick run in to make a purchase usually will involve a little "chewing of the fat" and that's fine by me. I enjoy going in there. They will spot you a loan if you're short of cash and they will let you know when your kids were in the store without you and maybe what they purchased.

They have fresh watermelons in the summer months and they keep plenty of ice cream bars on hand....which is a good thing since I am making a steady diet of them these days!

There is such a casual air about the joint and Secret took full advantage of the looseness tonight as the clerk was filling up our propane tank for a cookout we were having. She was waiting inside on the man who was out filling the tank when the phone rang. Well, Secret just walks right over and answers the phone and she is asked if they have corn on the cob for sale. She replies that she doesn't work there but that she will check on the item for the customer. So, she checks for the corn and passes along the info to the customer on the phone and then hangs up.

Wow. Now that is the small town way of life right there.

I laughed so hard when she was telling me about it when she returned!

I love it!

I pulled the post about myself last night after some things were said that I didn't want on there and I deactivated my blog overnight until things calmed down.

I KNEW not to share too intimately about myself but I did against my better judgement.

I won't do that again.
