Life After The Hollow

 Thoughts From The Loft?

Howdy Streamers.

Well, things in Randy's world are changing quickly...

Secret and I have ended our romantic relationship but luckily still remain good friends...There is no one on earth that knows me as intimately as her.

but I am moving from the lovely hollow in the hills to a loft apartment right in our wonderfully quaint town square.

I take occupancy today and will spend the weekend moving.

I like my new spot cuz it's got all the cool places I like to frequent right outside my door...

Several restaurants, a live music club, a coffee shop that has live music one night a week, A bookstore, the library, the university, easy access to my hiking haunts and the bank. Oh, and my lovely little church is right out my back door.

I am only 5 minutes away from the hollow to visit the kids and Secret and I am only about 2 minutes from work.

I feel weird making this move from what has been my home for 2 and a half years but I feel it will a good thing for me to have a place to be alone....

A bittersweet change for sure...

I will always love Secret and I hope she feels the same for me but things just weren't working and I think the change will be good for everyone in the end.

I just want Secret and her children to be happy.

I will never be fully at peace until I know they are ok.

 My Pap Smear!

Um....

So, I had never had a pap smear done before, and while I wasnt really sure what it was, I thought I would go to the doctor and get one!

So, I strut into my doctor's office and tell the befuddled girl at the front desk that I want a pap smear and she didn't quite know what to say!

I said... "Come on! I want to get in those nifty stirrups! WOOT!"

Then I eased my Dockers down around my ankles and told her to have a look at my "pap"! Then I smeared it!

Security was called. I was escorted out. Charges pending.

 A Note From Mom.....

Hi Streamers....

Some of you may remember that my step dad is undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at this time. I really appreciated all your kind words and prayers.

I got a note from Mom this morning to post here for the Hollow readers...

From Mom:

"Hey Bloggers - just to update all of you who have been praying for us, we are half way through radiation and doing well although experiencing some side effects. Could be worse and we are thankful that the end is in sight. Keep praying!

Love and blessings to all,
Randy's Mom"

Thank you everyone.

 Nothing Under The Sun.....

Well, I am going through one of my bi-monthly existentialist periods again...

Ya know?

When I have HAD it with the world and my daily Bible readings aren't going anywhere or providing any relief from the enormous amount of emotional stress I am suffering right now.

I just shrug and say... "Well, life sucks and it will continue to suck for others when I am gone."

It's times like these that I will stay in the Bible, but I go to Ecclesiastes. This book is one of the first existentialist essays ever widely read by most people and it seems odd that it is dropped in the middle of the Old Testament of the Bible.

It's the "Devil's advocate" book of The Word for me and I get to wallow in my misery and at least know that God understands and has a place I can go to feel hopeless (along with many of the Psalms).

The end of the book does quickly remind me to obey God, but I don't go and read there for that. I want to feel an association with millions of other Christians who have had it with hope and faith. It wears me out sometimes.

But..... My faith is like the waves of the ocean and as my faith and hope have flowed away like a roaring riptide, I know from experience that some of my deepest spiritual growth often follows these times of dispair. Relief and peace will certainly wash over me again.

So, I will wait for hope to return, and in the meantime I hunker down and pray even as I don't want to pray, that God will bring me out of this valley...
