Life After The Hollow

 Today's Statement.

I have grown tired of my head and am thinking of donating it to science.

Um....

Well, that's all for today.

Thank you.

 I've Been Thinking......

Hi.

Well, the weekend is over and I was thinking....

1. What's the deal with cannibalism? Does that represent the 4 food groups for a proper healthy diet?

2. Is Columbus Day just a conspiracy by "THEM" involving whales, the cast of "What's Happening?", and the afore mentioned cannibalism?

Somebody help me put this all together here!

 Hollow Reissue # 4

Yes, another weekend is upon us and since I STILL have no computer repaired at home yet I am posting another reissue. This is a poem I wrote in the springtime, I believe, and I was always pretty happy with it despite it's somber tone.

Everyone behave this weekend or I'll call my Mom!

"Carolina"

I remember the day when you went to the war
I packed your things in a sack, your tobacco and our Bible
You kissed me goodbye and left through the gate
Said you was goin' off to the Manassas war...

The babies tugged at my dress and asked where you went
and I told them you would be home soon
I told them to be proud of their daddy
but we would have to work hard in his stead
to keep the place up.
to get the crop in...

It was only us to get the work done
no more school for the two of you
we must work to keep the place up
to get the crop in...

Six long months 'til a letter from you
It was short and sweet and I held it to my heart
you was coming home soon from the Manassas war...

We kept the place up and got the crop in
but now the cold winter is settling in
we are hungry and tired but our hope is alive
you're coming home from the Manassas war...

Spring is come to warm our cold bones
the babies want to go back to school
but we must work to keep the place up
and get the crop in
'til you come home from the Manassas war...

Then, once the Yankees came on a raid
they took the little that we had away
the stone chimney is all that is left
I sent the babies to ma's and I'll sleep in the shack
I swept up the ashes of our home sweet home
So, you'll smile when you see how I kept the place up
When you come home from the Manassas war...

There's no place to keep up
and no crops to bring in,
I am starving to death
but I won't stop waitin'
for you to come back to me
to come home from the Manassas war...

Folks dont understand why I wont just leave
They bring me food and pray with me.
they say you ain't comin' home from the Manassas war...

But I'll stand as long as I can and then I'll lay and wait for you
My heart will not break as I look far down the road
to see you walking and whistling, home from the pitiless war.
You'll be comin' home from the Manassas war...

I cry out to God to please bring you home.
It's hard to look with these worn out eyes
I don't think I will last much more.
Please come home from the Manassas war.

Come home from the pitiless war.......

 The Hardest Questions.....

Hi everyone....

I suppose today I would like to make us delve deep into our minds and hearts and ponder the seemingly impossible...

Is it possible to forgive someone who has done the unforgivable?

Can the deepest hurt ever be healed?

Is it possible to love the unlovable?

Can the seemingly unchangable character flaws within ourselves ever be changed?

Should we ever give up on what seems impossible?

Can love really cover a multitude of our vilest sins?

 Hollow Reissue # 3

Well Streamers.... another week at work has come to an end and I still have no computer working at home.... so it's a reissue for the weekend..... I like this poem. Hope you do too..

Have a terrific weekend!

"The Waters......."

Peace,
light as angel's breath.

Quiet,
as still as in death.

Serenity,
the hush of the calm
will soothe my heart
like a beautiful psalm.

Solace,
to cool my fiery soul.
This forsaken world
has taken it's toll...
on my poor spirit.

Oh, if only to repose
by the waters so still,
I would lay there forever
if it was only God's will.

By the cool healing water
is where I belong.
A brush with divinity
like a mourning dove's song.

Alas, I live in this world
and not in heaven's keep.
But I can return to the waters
in the sweet baptism of sleep.
