Ok. So, I have been loving my new job.... like REALLY enjoying it! I have gotten the office straightened out weeks ahead of schedule to the great pleasure of my employers.... Mistake free..... Until today.
So, they throw me a contract and tell me to fax it to "smith" for example. Well, I don't know who "Smith" is, but I knew it was a title company, so I'm on the beat to get it done without help, like I have been doing. Well, I went to the front desk and asked the girl where I could get the fax # and she gives me a # for "smith" but it was the WRONG "smith". Not knowing this, I sent the fax and then was met with horror from my boss who said that was sensitive info that didn't need to be seen by the wrong "smith".
Um...... I apologized and sent it to the correct "smith", but decided NOT to tell that the front desk girl gave me the wrong number. So, it's on me, which I thought would be better than pointing the blame finger at my co-worker so early in the gig. She just glanced at the wrong list.
I feel kinda of weird about it.
I dont want them to think I would make a mistake, but I dont want to get into office blame game politics..
so, did I do the right thing?
Should I have put the blame on the girl to save my neck?
Nah..
I didnt get in trouble as my other boss humorously pointed out that how was I supposed to know where in the hell to send it with the info given??????? Geeze!!
They always do that to me, but I've been quick on my feet and have adapted to getting alot done with VERY little instruction....
Oh, well....
I straightened the whole mess out by calling the wrong "smiths" secretary and told her to immediately SHRED the document, which she did.
Then I finally got to get out in the field today and see some houses!
WOOT!
